a chapter closes, and a new one, is about to begin:)
regret is a common feeling at times like this, at the end of things when you look back and wonder how you could have done things differently, when once familiar faces now appear strangely alien to you. the moving on has not been smooth, but definitely necessary, and once again, i can only wait and wonder what God has in store for me.
work had brought its ups and downs, no doubts. poor pay, little work, with colleagues who will now store me at the back of their memories. not that i would complain, actually, but just that it all seems pretty transient in the long run, all things are i guess, in the end only close friends (and family) will really count as gold.
looking onward to the next page, i'm still building up the 'I WANT TO GO AMERICA' feeling. its one week to my flight, and thankfully its just starting to build up:) no doubt there are distractions, like helping out with some children's camp stuff (with marvin's egging) and going to do log shopping [side note: i dont understand why they didnt do it earlier. log shopping is quite a load of fun:)] and scholarship finalities to settle [bank acc, etc etc]
and yes. finally, i watched the same movie TWICE on DVD yday, for the first time (in my memory).
folks, i am an 'Elizabethtown' fan.
(spoilers? maybe. but worth the 5 bucks i paid to rent it. ten times over)
fine, it may look outstandingly cheesy at the first cut, and i was thinking so as well, when marvin first recommended it over lunch on sunday one day. orlando bloom, kirsten dunst (whom i can only distinctly remember from bring it on, first impressions kill man). a guy in trouble, fall in love with the girl, what's new about it? so yeah. with my skepticsm i watched it, and by the end of the first run, i was in love with it already. the second time round, at ravi's place, was just an appreciation of the outstanding soundtrack, chill-out music on the road trip [ever so sweetly planned out and accompanied by Claire(Kirsten Dunst)]. i ain't a sucker for movies, but this one goes right back up the charts yo.
everybody needs the DVD of Elizabethtown, to step out, to inspire, and to fall in love:)
quotable quotes.
'i. can make your grey skies blue.'
'i want you to get into the deep beautiful melancholy of everything that has just happened'
'if it wasn't this, it'd be something else'
'i'm impossible to forget, but hard to remember'
' everybody needs to take a road trip once in their lives, you, and some music'
wotd.
intrepid.
welcome, to Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
